About Us
Originally a pineapple plantation, Rainbird Estate has been transformed into an inveriable oasis, with lush green gardens, indigenous trees, grasslands and a thriving wetland ecosystem. We pride ourselves on our commitment to nature and affinity to all fauna and flora found on the farm. Having restored some areas to their original natural status, we have seen the return of many bird and animal species that were absent during the farms earlier years as a plantation. Our guests are guaranteed tranquil surroundings, relaxation and a memorable stay with us.

What we have to offer...
Naturally, we offer our guests the full bed and breakfast option. Guests are however more than welcome to self cater and all chalets are equipped with all the necessary facilities to take advantage of this option. That is not all however, and we are currently in the process of building a beautiful small diner where guests will be able to enjoy delicious home cooked lunches and dinners, giving those guests who arrive a little later, the peace of mind, that they won't have to go out looking for a place to eat in the middle of the night. The diner also boasts a cozy central fire place for those occasional chilly nights and a small bar where you can just chill, enjoy a glass of wine or beer and share your stories with other guests staying on the farm. For those hot summer days, there is a lovely swimming pool and for the kiddies, there's a trampoline, play facility with swings etc... and loads of space for running and exploring.

English, Dutch, Portuguese, Zulu, Siswati, Afrikaans and a little French are spoken on the farm, for any other foreign visitors, there's always sign language and google translator....
Chalets are cleaned and made up everyday, by a team of dedicated staff.
A laundry service is available for a small fee from Mondays to Saturdays.
Wifi is available at the main house and will be at the diner too.
All chalets are equipped with or have access to barbeque facilities, feel free to check with reception if there is anything you may have forgotten.
We are happy to make reservations and bookings for all other activities or attractions both locally and in Southern Africa and Mocambique.
All chalets are fitted with alarm systems for your own peace of mind. There is secure parking for all vehicles and security personnel on duty in the evenings.
